No, the Pope is not leader of the UN, but he gains its power of the catholic nations, in fact, all catholic Nations and not only a handsome.

Thus, these powerful nations a permanent vote in all matters in the Curia. Small countries should have a bishop who just has only an advisory function. Deviating from this will also be appointed cardinals. One cardinal principle must be at least a bishop. The cardinal is intended for the person, not the diocese.

I am definitely surprised to hear, that small Catholic nations should get no right to vote.

I would not want to support any idea, I (or the representative of my nation) was not allowed to vote on.

Why on earth shouldn't small nations be allowed to vote? If they are inactive and can't muster an RP writer that would be a different matter, but I think it a bad idea to deny any Catholic nation the right to exercise voting rights from the start.

Look at this, tiny Liechtenstein has an Archbishop http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Catholic_Archdiocese_of_Vaduz

Activ Bishops can become Cardinal, so they will be able to vote. But, thats an idea of a church, not the UN

Which would theoretically mean that medieval people would have a far greater and personal interest in the matter than the average person has in the UN nowadays?

Religion was a far more serious and important matter then, than it is in the modern world, practically no atheists, agnostics or sceptics in medieval times.

P.S. I also agree with the previous posters who said the influence of the Catholic church will depend on the support of the Catholic nations. Why on earth start to deliberately limit the support the institution is likely to get, by offending all the nations excluded?

no one can force you to Contribute. But for someone to honor, that he does something that ought to be possible.

Norbert I'm afraid your English might indeed lead people to misunderstand what you are trying to say.

Norbert Valentin wrote:

Quite. But what we were talking about, was whether everyone (every Catholic nation) who wants to contribute, will be allowed to do so.

So I am understanding you correctly, that you don't want small nations to have Cardinals and voting rights?

I disagree about that.

Clear to every what? Matrimony is the institution of Marriage.

And here we have a matter in fact. Most of the Nations have only a small number in players being really able to write "half-way" good RP, you often see them wearing brown or blue colors in the end.

And thats the problem at all, you have to reign a Nation, dealing on wars and all the stuff and same day you shall write a good spiritual RP?

Look at my personal RP on german board, when I started and how many posts it has right now to see I am not even that great RP player, just like the game

I have just really hit my forehead. It hurts.

You again trying to do something with the papal stuff? Are you kidding me? Everyone is looking for the moral high RP grounds. I couldn't RP a guy that pillages and stuff without the whole world knowing about it.

And you're now trying to set up a Papal elections?

Here's my advice, appoint yourself pope (done), don't favor any side (probably done), call a conclave and set up a rule of your own (probably/mostly done), those who do not attend are proclaimed heretics, those who do can vote.

No more discussion or debates. For a system to function there must be a as we say today DICTATORSHIP system. One man decides everything in what he thinks is best. Those who abide the rules get rewarded those who do not get spanked.

And after the dust settles THEN you can negotiate because you have already set up a foundation with ground rules.

That's my advice, otherwise you'll have an endless loop of pointless discussions and such.
