Late spring was turning into summer and still the Norwegians and their Allies were chasing the cowardly forces of the Christians through the reaches of Romsdal and Oppland. The longer days and steep climbs of the Norwegian inland combined with her current state were taking their toll on the Danish Queen. Breakfast-time had become the least favourite time of day for her and during the day there was not too much time to pause and have a meal, even though her husband and his guards made sure that she did eat in between times.
The rugged landscape of Norway had a terrible beauty to it, it was harsh and inhospitable in places and in others it could be lush and full of green. The armies supplemented their diet by hunting down deer and other wild animals that might be available to them and whenever a group of hunters left, Ish would look after them longingly. However she knew how much it had meant to her husband to let her participate in this war whilst pregnant and out of respect she would not push him further. Although she would perhaps mention that it might be nice to go out hunting with him.
It was during the evening that she sat and contemplated the current situation. This constant chasing of the armies of the Pope and his allies was frustrating, to say the least. And had there be the possibility, she would have loved to have given any of those thickheaded people a piece of her mind. Even though, as it was with thickheaded persons, it would probably fall on deaf ears.
Ish sighed and stared into the flames of the campfire.
