The letter from Vukan was soon delivered to her keep in Pomorran. She asked her companions to leave the room, allowing only Gniewomir and the Serbian messanger to stay. King Maria broke the seal, and read through the letter. A cheerful smile arrived to her face, when she came to the last words of proposal. King Maria walked to a southern window, looking far, far away. After a while, she asked for a parchement and a quill and wrote an answer:
