Zafhira remembered the good days, of being a child, running in the fields with her brothers, sisters, and relatives. Getting mud on her dress, and having the family manor's maids run after to catch her. The days when she was care free, riding a horse so big that she stopped at it's knees. Zafhira was now at the age of 15, the age her family would send her on her way to court someone noble or royal, and make her life the way it should be. Zafhira laid on her saddle and pack, watching her dappled gray mare, Zhena, graze on the long grass in her family's Burgundy estate. Zaf's messenger had rode up to give her a letter, one that would change her life forever.
QUOTE: Dearest Lady Zafhira Kamansati,
It has been informed to me that our father, Sir Saheer Kamansati, has been slain in the line of battle today. His fatality brings me great grief, and hopes that you do not fall from this loss. Our father would have wanted you to take great care of his mare, Zhena, so with this I am sending you her, she is now yours. Our father, upon the healer's tables, asked for you to be sent to Fatimids, in hopes of marrying a noble or royal heir. Your mother, Chandni, has sent along with the mare enough food and money to get you across to Fatimids. A ship or whatever transportation you may require has already been notified. With that, I wish you none more than the best travels the lord may possibly give you.
Your brother,
Sahif Zaree Kamansati
With this, Zafhira has now no home to go to, she was bound for Fatimids, and what journey life had her awaiting on...

Zafhira was still landed in Burgundy, her destination was unknown, she was not keen at direction, so she had sent a letter to His Majesty in hopes of getting the quickest possible route to Fatimids. Zafhira was now living on the outskirts of Burgundy, in a small house made for one person, and two or three livestock. Only her and her horse Zhena resided at the lodge, for Zafhira needed not other livestock. Often a man would stop by, wanting to sell her his goat and donkey, for an unfit price. Her silver left would not allow her to purchase both animals, but both would have made fine pack animals. Her mother however had brought with her message boy a basket full of hard breads, dried meats, and traveler’s cheeses. “Another message Lucas?” Zafhira asked, handing the boy a torn piece of bread and cut cheese. “Yes, from your mother, I have not read my lady’s mail, as you’ve often asked, but if you would like me to do so, while I am here-” Lucas was cut off. “Why of course! Read it to me! I am always joyful at getting new letters, besides the one.”
Lucas opened the letter and read it allowed.
QUOTE: Dear Lady Zafhira,
I know your lodging is not fit for a ladyship as you, and your heritage lines, but this is just as the best my servants could find, blasted things they are. I hope you are keeping this food I have sent with you in plenty for your journey. I have word that you do not know of where to begin on your travel, so I have sent a letter to His Majesty of Fatimids, asking for the routes to His Majesty’s country.
In saying this lovely daughter, I and your Auntie Mary have decided to find you a man of noble blood to marry. We have arranged for him to meet you at Fatimids, unrevealed as long as he pleases. Though this has probably upset you, me and your Aunt Mary believe it is best for you to not know of whom you are marrying as of now. All I must say is that he is quite handsome, and a bit older than you. But I’m sure you will bear marvelous children from him.
I am hoping this does not upset or alarm you, but rather give you the curiosity that your young blood deserves. I am hoping the young beast of a horse you have will not give you fuss on your travels. If this is so, there should be enough silver to purchase a donkey to ride or lead the mare with. I have also arranged for you to receive your personal carriage to pick you up before you get to the gates of Fatimids.
I have had the splendid news that His Majesty has been expecting you for quite sometime now. He is anxious of your arrival, and he wishes you all the good health and blessings in your travels. My dear daughter, you best be on your best lady like behavior once you reach the gates of Fatimids. You do not know if your noble escort, just mayhap be your husband. I am just so cruel to you, am I not? I must go now.
With love,
Mother Josephina Rosalinda Kamasati
