Hello all the wise men of this world of knights. As Novgorod was founded by vikings (and who says that those wasn't estonian vikings), I would propose a changing of the name Novgorod to Estonia. Since it’s not fully historically true we’re planning to make some changes more to make Novgorod to be a more Baltic nation as we desire to represent the vikings of this baltic nation and also Estonia in the middle ages was right next to Novgorod so this would be the best place to build this kind of a nation.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
RL Estonians will be better represented in the game while Russian players have two options already: Rostov and Smolensk.

Well, honestly, I don't know what to think about it. No ffense, but Novogrod played a much important role in Middle Ages than Estonia did. But, on the other hand, Elizabeth is right about representation of Estonian players. At the moment, due to historical corectness, i say no. But! But I would like to know how many of current Novogrod players are in fact Estonian. If more than half and they wish to actively participate in this game, I will probably change my opinion. So it's up to you guys - Any Estonians here?

I completely disagree. Estonia became a state in its own sense in the 20'th century, so it had nothing to do with the Middle Ages, not by far.

I have seen enough historical inaccuracies in this game and most of those inaccuracies have made the game worse. While I agree that some things don't have to follow the historical course, I also strongly believe that some things still have to, otherwise we will all just start renaming our factions as we please.

In my view, this change has nothing to do with the game, but with the fact that you're all Estonians, which means it's more or less a nationalistic-type wish.

@Alar: First notes of Estonia as a country (or rather a large state, not an indepentend one) come - basing on my knowledge so I might be wrong - from XIIIth century. But, as it is a game, and if most of players there are Estonian, maybe we should reconsider changing the course a little bit? How about adding a new nation of Estonia, not changing Novogrods into Estonia? Is that even possible?

But about those 4 not estonians, they haven't been online more than 5 days so I dont know about them anymore.

I'll only support adding a new nation of Estonia with the castle in 217 but the name of the shire should be swapped with 215 shire.

217 Pskow->Estland
215 Estland->Pskow

This would only give the Baltic region a more unique position and RP value.

Novgorod in other hand had a more significant role in history and I would never settle for it to be changed in to faction not even historically accurate for this time frame...

Well I've talked this with some of my friends who are on high standings in this game and they said that maybe the admins wont allow this kid of change.
oh and we have discussed the map placing but we thought that we'll do it when we do this nation thing but the original plan to change the map was this..

Swap the 217 and 219 cuz Pskow is about there.
Narvskoje to 215, cuz the city Narva is there.
Estland to 216 cuz notrhern estonia is there.

but the problem is that Lithuanian Salmon is there and I dont think that they will just give it away.

I totally agree with Ljudislav. I can understand that you guys want to play your own nation. Gather some players, write a petition to the game admins with changes proposed by Ljudislav and everybody will be happy I guess.
