A story of Love and War.      16.05.2011 20:06:38 --- 1 Year ago
It is over. The tournament of Lughnasadh was a great succes. Not only the expected knights from Éire and Sverige came to the tournament, but also knights from Lithuania and The Order of the Templar Knights, and even the king of Novgorod. As always, after the tournament, a Royal banquet was held to honour the champions of the tournament. For the duels a knight from Lithuania called Carlsberg the Great was the champion, for the joust, a knight from her island, Wilks di Santor and for the melee also Carlsberg the Great. But everything has an end, and so her tournament has, and that means that her husband(the main reason for her tournament) must go home. Unfortanely the Swedish are at war with the English and the Saxons.

Fallen stood by the docks of Dublin. To protect her husband and his/her knights (after all, she is the Prinsessa av Sverige) she prepared her army and fleet to sail throught the English Sea and channel. Fallen ordered to take the cogs* instead of the transport boats, and her army was already embarked on the cogs. The only one who doesn't was on the cogs were the Swedish knights and her husband. After thirty minutes, Fallen saw the Swedish finally arriving at the docks. They embarked on their ships, called Karvies and are ready to sail.

Fallen walked to the Swedish Royal Karvi and asked for her husband. unfortanely, she can't visit him, because he still felt bad by the joust. That is why she asked the leader of his guard Olof to deliver a note to him.

QUOTE:
The love of my life,

I hope that you are feeling alright by the time you read this letter. I had a wonderful time with you in the last weeks, and my heart is already breaking by the idea that must go. I hope that next time I can go to Sweden to visit your land. My eyes shall ever be looking by the sea for your return. My cogs will follow your ships to protect you against any attack.

I hope to see you soon, and I shall always love you,

FallenAngel, you Irish girl

With a kiss on the paper, she gave it to Olof, so that he can give it to Dietrich. Goodbye Olof Goodbye my Prinzessa

Dietrich was back at sea.
He had left the tent for the first time in two days because the injuries of the joust with Wilks di Santor who had then eventually won the turney had been more severe than everyone had thought. A rib was broken and two others ached as if they liked to follow their neighbour's example sometime soon. The first day Dietrich had spitted quite some blood as well far away from anyone drawing unecessary conclusions from it such as a doctor of course.

He hadn't talked to his wife after the banquet and had also been buidy with state's affairs until now. When he now took the letter of his wife he felt remorse he hadn't answered yet.
Dietrich took a quill to use the time and send the Irish ships back with an answer. However he was not sure if those Irish ships where ordered to return home anytime soon. Maybe they had orders to not leave until their Rí a title which Dietrich still felt strange to apply to himself had returned home safely.

QUOTE:

To FallenAngel, finally my wife,

how can I feel alright when I have to part from you again? How can I feel alright when this vast letters shall replace the tender embrace of your arms? I can never be apeased until you set foot on my own native soil to celebrate with my people. I hope this day will come soon.

I appreciate the support of your ships as the experienced seafarers of Eire are always a good assurance for safe journeys.

I long for you too my beloved wife,

Dietrich den Uxi, your Swedish viking

At least they had to fear no real pirates now that the attacks of the Saxons and English had revealed the true face of the brigants in the Northern sea. He would soon have to face their armies though.

The Irish cogs took the open sea between the two islands of Éire and Britannia. At one of the ships, also know as the Royal Cog, sat the Banríon of Éire and Prinsessa av Sverige, FallenAngel Uxihustru. Finally after two years of waiting, two years hoping and praying to the gods of her island, her husband arrived at her castle. But that wasn't for long either. Two weeks, only two weeks had Fallen to enjoy and to hold her husband in her arms. The land of her love was in danger, and he must back home to repel this attacks.

My Queen, we passed the Irish sea now, and we are heading to the Britannia Channel. The words came from her admiral McCloud, A Scot in service of Ireland. He knew that she hated when someone name her by her title. But as a real Scot he doesn't care about that. Good, let the men prepare for any pirate attacks, we don't know under which banner they sail so watch out for any ship on the horizon. Yes My Queen.

Fallen went to the Royal Quarters to take a small rest before she take the second watch. But when she entered the quarters, her daughter was waiting for her. Evening mother, I have a letter for you from father. That quick? I thought we haven't the wind in our favor. It was brought by a falcon, and they doesn't care about the wind. Ah on that way, now give it to me and take the first watch. Yes mother.

Siofra gave the letter and went to her duties. After Fallen read the letter, she took a paper, ink and a feather and wrote

QUOTE:
To the owner of my heart and thoughts,

I know it is hard, but that is life always. I already miss you, and I shall never feel as safe when you aren't with me. My heart is bleeding, and my minds are troubled because they can only think of you. I promise you, before my ancestors call me to the other world, I will come to you and I will never leave you untill that day comes.

With my eyes turned to Sweden and without my heart,

FallenAngel Always yours

When she was finished, she tied the letter to the leg of a falcon and let it fly back where he came from. She lied down on her bed and began to cry herself in sleep

Charles ran his eyes slowly over the array of gifts that had been prepared, glancing at the craftsmen that were putting the final touches on the engraving on the ornate chest that was crafted specifically to carry it. Times being what they were, it was good to have a reason to celebrate...even if his somewhat sullen son didn't seem to realize that.

Young Argorian arched an eyebrow at his father as the two men walked side by side away from where the final preparations were being done. The son was still a couple inches shorter than the father, but he had yet to grow into his full height, but the two seemed much alike in mannerism and general look. Their dark hair worn shoulder length, though the older's was beginning to show some silver strands mixed in with the black, and broad shoulders angling down into a narrow and slim body that put one in mind of a top ready to spin out of control.

"I... don't really understand what all this is about..."

Charles paused a moment to look at him, and then nodded as if encouraging him to proceed.

"We fought a war with the Irish... the Sweds are viking raiders... You told me the story of your grandfather's death at the hands of such a raid...." the boy trailed off.

"So why are sending a gift to the celebration of a union of them is what you ask?" Charles chuckled softly. "Never let yourself forget that these are two people who have given respect both to Aragon and to myself personally. They have dealt fairly with us, their allies and enemies alike and the peace that has existed between us has been a good thing, for that war was an aberration of one person's madness." he gave a shrug of his shoulders, "And Dietrich was an engaging and congenial host, I wish to remind him of the high regard in which I hold him. It is right, honorable... and just plain polite to share in the happiness of others."

The young man studied his father's expressions for a few moments and then nodded every so slightly, "I believe I understand..."

"Good! Now," he said removing a folded parchment from his tunic and pressed it into his son's hand, "take this to Father Paul and have it sent with haste."

"Of course.."

QUOTE:

Banrion McHarvest, Konungr Dietrich,

News of your wedding seems to be the talk of the land from Ireland to Jerusalem, and rightly so, for while our Faith's may differ we share the grave duty of responsibility that all those charged with leading a people do. It is my hope that you might both find solace in the bond that you have forged together.

As a small token of my wishes for long happiness, a gift is on its way to the shores of Ireland, that I hope will add to the sense of celebration sure to endure in both your kingdoms from this happy event.

"Stand up straight boy," Charles said simply as he cuffed young Argorian on the shoulder. The lad shot him a smirk from a face that was still a touch pale from the trial of the sea voyage and smoothed the front of his doublet.

"Of course, Father," he replied elbowing his elder brother for good measure when the other was pleased by the rebuke. No one ever rebuked Argorian he was... "perfect."

Both Princes were the only members of Charles' household who had made the voyage, his wife, three daughters, and the young crown prince, staying behind to attend to affairs of state in his absence, and this of course meant that Charles had had someone hovering over them for hours insuring that they looked every drop of royal blood that flowed in their veins. Both were dressed similarly, crimson cloth trimmed with gold and black braid baring the sigil of House Hart: a white stag. Where Alfred was built heavily like a blacksmith and fair, both in complexion and hair, Argorian was slim and dark, a mark of his Southern France extraction, and the two could not be more different in temperament. Even so, after a final look over Charles announced himself satisfied that they very sight of them wouldn't bring shame on the whole family, finally gestured for the servants to bring in the chest.

Born on the shoulders of a pair of liveried servants, the chest had been taken almost two months to carve, worked with intricate designs derived from several Celtic and Norse tales, and then finished to an almost mahogany finish. At the center of both types of designs was a unity knot, made of gold and silver wound together that served as a clasp for the chest itself.

Now they would wait.

"Just think..." mused Alfred aloud, "sometime after this we'll get back on the boat," Argorian gave a dry heave and Charles smacked the elder Prince in the back of the head.

Many men and women of Erin never believed it and never will. Their Banríon has left the Island for good. The stories were that she felt in love with another Swedish, that she became old and mad, that she started to hate her country, but none of those were true. Her leaving hurted her so bad that she became depressed. But she had to leave, there were many things going on in Sweden that she as Prinssesa av Sverige needed to take care of. But what she found broke her heart. Her dear husband and Kongungr av Sverige was dead.

My prinssesa, it is time. FallenAngel was drowned in her thought. The time was there to burn Dietrich to release his soul from his flesh.Let's start then Olof Four men of the Varangian Guard, his Royal Guard, and four men of the Fíanná carried his body to the sacred burning place of Odin. Mo ghra, will you wait for me at my end? I miss you The words were whispered in his ear when the men lied him on the pile of wood. The druids of Odin gave a torch to her to enlight the wood. Before she lied the stakeat the pile, she looked at the other guests at this cemetery. She saw many Swedes, some of them she knew from her wedding tournament, some of them she knew since her arrival.

Mina vänner, thank you all for coming here on this sad moment. We are here to reunite a great and noble viking with his ancestors in Valhalla. Dietrich was an honourable king, warrior, friend, husband and last but not least man. Both Sweden and Ireland lost their king and many more nations lost a reliable ally. May the gods of Erin guide him to Valhalla and may the gods of the vikings give him acces to the halls of Valhalla.

The last words were compared with the sounds of the fire. FallenAngel stood next to Zmeu, the current Regent of Sweden and Svein "Skull Splitter" an old friend of Dietrich. With his body getting burned away, she felt a pain in her heart and when the second were flying by, the pain in her heart was growing. And after a minute, her body couldn't take it anymore and she fainted.

The next thing she saw was the ceiling of her room and the finnish slaves of her husband. Before a single word passed her lips she fainted again

The Journey was long, harsh and cold. The lands of the Vikings was rough and almost unbearable to travel, but finally Siofra made it. Vaestmansland. The home of her last stephfather and now of her mother. When she past the gates of the capitol city, she couldn't believe her eyes. Every building was war-like and spartan build. A complete contrast for what she was used to back in Erin. But it seems that everyone was depressed, or sad whatever a viking feels. When she saw the embassy of Erin, she couldn't help herself and entered the building, but what catched her eye was that the flag was hoised at half.

Banphrionsa Siofra, please down. We have heard some bad news. What for news than ambasadóir?? I don't know how to say this, bUt.... Before he could have said the news someone screamed outside. THE BODY IS HERE, THE BODY IS HERE. The body??? What seemed strange at first, became clear a second later. No, no, no NOOOOOO. She ran outside to see the body. And when her eyes confirmed what she thought, she began to cry for hours.

Later that day

With tears in her eyes, she began to write her first diplomatic letter to all nations of the world,

QUOTE:
To every nation of the world,

I know that this news would be accepted of great joy and relief. The Gods of Erin and Sverige, the Old Ones and my stephfather Dietrich den Uxi found that the time was ripe. The Banríon of Erin, The Konungrin av Sverige, The Pagan-Queen, The Protector of Witches and Druids FallenAngel Mc Harvest is passed away. The funeral will be held both in Sverige and in Erin.

Siofra Allyn Braon
The new Konungrin av Sverige

The letter was copied at the embassy and delivered to every kingdom in the world. Now it is time to grieve

Your Highness, the news that the Queen FallenAngel Mc Harvest, Banríon of Erin and Konungrin av Sverige, one of the most important figures of the North is passed away come as an arrow in our hearts.
We waste so many opportunities and did not accomplish the great things no doubt she had in mind because of petty rivalties we are ashamed now.

I'm to young to say many words about your esteemed mother, but her fame was beyond the borders.
England is with you as sincere friends in these moments of deep sorrow.

Your servant,
James, Duke of Kent, Chancellor of England

Dear Friends,

Your words took a bit of my sadness away and I am glad that at least someone answered my letter. James, I don't remember you, but I like too. What I remember from your father I hope to see it in you.

Marcus, you I remember you. When we are young at a couple of tournaments or when they went on a war again. I hope to see you again,

Hmm not a single letter from Gerard since my mother died. It is time that I send one to him

QUOTE:
To the Fatimid Sultanate

To Gerard the Saint Omer,

With a bit of happines and also strange feelings I received your declaration of love. I was flattered that someone wanted me. I always stayed in the nature of Erin and I was too shy to dishonour my family-name. But in the end it seemed unnecessary because my mother always approved what me and my siblings did. But I don't know if you really meant what you wrote, so I ask you to write another letter to me before I made my decision.

I wait for you letter

Siofra
