Bishop Fenwick had for a while been having some thoughts, he now felt a need to share, some doubts, some questions of the papal candidates that required a final and definite answer:

"It was England who recommended wilhelm de montferrat to this gathering as a papal candidate. The circumstances of his arrival seemed most auspicious.

However apart from some brief comments at the beginning in this conclave wilhelm de montferrat has been silent ever since and has left many questions unanswered. Indeed I have heard some rumors that other matters outside this conclave and the future of the Church are on his mind.

This causes me to doubt the vote I cast in his favour.

Ban Matej Moreplovac has a number of things about him I cannot really approve of either - but he has at least shown a strong presence in this gathering.

I ask the papal candidates Ban Matej Moreplovac and wilhelm de montferrat one last time:

Are you willing and able to make the Holy Roman Catholic Church your life's work, to ever place the welfare of the Church before your own interests, to dedicate your life to the papal office and to attend to the many tasks awaiting the future pope?

Regrettably the influence of the Catholic Church has dwindled in our world. It is the task of the future pope to once again help the Church regain it's rightful place of eminence in the lives of all Catholics, to see to all matters requiring the attention of the pope with all due speed, to help and guide any Christians who ask for aide spiritual or otherwise from the Vatican and to answer such questions they may have that only the Vatican can answer. Since this is likely to be more than one man can reasonably manage, it will also be the task of the future pope to look out for, nurture, foster and encourage any likely young men within the Church and especially within the Vatican, who can help the pope in seeing these tasks fulfilled.

So I ask you again Ban Matej Moreplovac and wilhelm de montferrat: Do you have the enegery, dedication, time and will to see to all of these tasks? England's final and definite vote will go to the candidate who can make a firm commitment to do this."

For some time Little Ben was sitting in his chair beeing silent. Then after a hot tempered discussion and the voting of several electoral delegates he gave his comment...

Little Ben: Bishop Fenwick is right! Pease let us hear the final statements of both candidtaes. AND I WANT TO HEAR CONCILIATORY WORDS!!!

Fortunately, the following swearing in Bavarian slang could not be understood by the others.

Feel weakened, Lindsay take another sip of medicine. Encouraged, he cheers Ben's words:

Well spoken, dear cousin!

The speeches of candidates definitely would help making my mind. Not sure if I recognize who is who,let alone to decide who would be a better pope, Boreplovac or willi. Notice like myself many bishops did not decide yet who is worth their vote.

With those thoughts, Scotland representative sit down having another deep thinking.

Italian Cardinal would have liked among the candidates there was illuminated and a representative of unquestionable wisdom.

Unfortunately he had not to make sure that these elements belonged to the two requirements only candidates for the office of pope.

On the one hand the young Ban Matej Moreplovac.
On the other Wilhelm de Montferrat.

The first member of to the Papal States.
Son of one who had reigned for many years on the Kingdom of Croatia, then guilty of terrible actions, events of a distant past of which had never been made absolute clarity.
However Ariberto Intimiano would never discount to the young Moreplovac the sins of the father.
Moreplovac had distinguished himself in recent years within the hierarchy eclesiastica.
Aribert was never aware of any misconduct or fault of the young.

On the other Wilhelm de Montferrat of which he knew little or nothing.

Despite the many reservations, it was now concluded.

It was a priority for the Catholic Church hierarchy to identify a new guide.

"Ban Matej Moreplovac is the candidate indicated by the representative of the Italian Catholic Church."

The bishop of Antioch, John of Ajalon, received a letter from his homeland Antioch. At once he saw the seal of the Prince of Antioch and he knew that this would be an important message. He opened it at once and read the letter:

QUOTE:
To John of Ajalon, Bishop of Antioch.

Since you have leaved Antioch I heard nothing about a new pope. So I suppose the conclave holds on and seems to be very difficult.

I've some sadly news for you John. We received a bad message from our new shire Amman governed by Lord Warhammer. The brave Christians which I sent there to build up and prepare Amman for settlement are under great pressure and in danger of life.

A Scout brought the message that a Fatimid army crossed the border of Amman and surrounded the people there. It's impossible for the Hospitallers to reach Amman in time to defend them. If you get this letter Amman will be overrunned and fallen. Only the first step of the Islamic coalition to capture Jerusalem again.

The Hospitallers are preparing for the next battles which will come soon. So I have to write to you as our shepherd. John please inform all nations at the conclave about this development and then give your vote for one of the candidates (if you haven't done this until yet) and come home. Your place is with your Hospitaller brothers now.

God bless you

Hugh of Montfort
Prince of Antioch

After reading this letter John stood up asked for the word to bring the letter to all ears of the conclave. He got the word and read with load and clear words the letter of the Prince of Antioch.

After a short time of silence he said:

We are here for months and debate about the new pope. Our Christian brothers in the Holy land are in great trouble and Jerusalem in danger to be captured. Some of my sheep are dying in this moment - lonely and helpless. Remember what happened with Jerusalem after it was conquered by the Islamic armies. Churches were destroyed and Christian people killed without grace.

You have heard my vote I gave for Bishop Ban Matej Moreplovac 3 months ago. Since this day I heard nothing from the other candidate. My vote hasn't changed and won't be changed.

I have to leave Rome to do my duty and serve the Christian people in the Holy Land. I can't stay here for a longer time. My place is there now. I'll leave Rome tommorow with sunrise.

At last I have one request: Bring this conclave to an end quickly and don't forget your brothers and sisters in the Holy Land.

Thank you for your time you spent to here my words.

After this words John of Ajalon leaved the hall to prepare his departure and to write to the Prince about his returning home.

the young cardinal Giovanni Acuto was just bringing some food wine and water, to the konklave as he witnessed the speech of john of avalon.

he quickly followed john of avalon him and said: you can't leave. you have to stay. get back to the konklave.

he turned around and got to the konklave, as the food should be served warm.
he got in and saw the disappionted faces of the man around him. he placed the food in the middle and said:
my dearest brothers
I'm hear to give you food wine and water, from the vatikans spring.
i hope this will help you in your hard negotiations:

it talked with the cammerlengo, and i think i will get the order to take over the leadership in this konklave soon.
i wanted to warn you, to make sure you are not overwhelmed by this.
i also heard rumours about a man who pilgrimages to this konklave.
this can be true, and he might be the right one, who we are all looking for.

but now please eat and drink, i will be able to give your forthermor informaton tomorrow.

John of Ajalon decided to spent some more time in Conclave. Perhaps there was a little wonder on the way... Who could know God's ways.

So he sat down again on his old place. Passion is a very important trait for every Chistian and for a bishop too he thought by himself.

Wilhelm de montferrat had stood long as silent one. Not answering to any talks or pleas there was, the reason was that he heed a call from lord christ himself.
Suddenly he woke up, out from a trance-like situation.

" Conclave, cardinals, all bishops! "
He started with an loud voice.

" I had heed a call from almighty lord christ, i had heard the prayer of my templar brothers from crete! They are asking from my help and immediate presence, something had gone terribly wrong there, i sense it very strongly!"
" They had locked up, us in here. I wonder why they keep a men of lord christ like this? Is this a way to ensure, that the holy see will have a new pope for surely?"

"Yes! I am willing to do that! As living my life as an pope. working to ever place the welfare of the church before my own interests! I truly wish to dedicate the rest of my life to papal office and attend to many tasks awaiting the next pope!"

Wilhelm de montferrat asked and awaited an good answer.
