The buildings can be sold by 75% of the price the building cost.

This is a good idea if you have lots of silver and want to join the free, because without having a nation your silver might get stolen by thieves

So it doesn't have any real purpose ? It's just a way for rich knights to spend money and show off .

It's also a way rich knights can save their money and prevent beeing robbed during their time as a free knight (free armys).

I agree with you but it would be interesting if it gave some 'palpable' advantages .

Just building a Homesite is it enough to protect the money from thieves while the Knight is free? Or, is needed to store the money in the homesite (is it even possible to store them? ) or another action to take?

Based on what Alrik says:

1 - Suppose I have 2000 silver

2 - I spend 1800 on building in homesite

3 - I leave my former nation, takeing 200 silver with me

4 - I join my new nation

5 - I sell the buildings in my homesite for 1350 (75% of original price), giving me 1550 silver out of
the original 2000.

So I lose 450, but ensure that I don't lose 1800.
