We had been following Christian army from Norway back in here Norrland and here we saw devastation like in south. The war had arrived in Sami. While we were staying to help our peasants, our scouts told of battle in Trondelag where Saxons and Burgundies fought alongside with Danes against Vatican army. How that had happened I do not know but what I know is that they are now heading to this direction and according to our scouts group of mercenaries is coming with them, we now prepare to fight I can see seeds of revenge inducted rage in the eyes of my comrades and to tell the truth I have the same feeling. These people did nothing wrong and in the end they suffered. I wonder where the lot spoken chivalry of the Christian knights is.

As the morning rises we see the camp of the Vatican and their mercenaries. Judging from the fires they are cold. Can’t really be surprised as they are from far south, and if what I’ve heard is correct it never snows there. Their army is twice as large but we have an edge, this is our land and terrain so the battle will be fought on our terms, either they come up snowy hill, though stumbling in snow would be more describing or we go down fast with our skis.

I hear the order to attack and take speed with my skis and let the speed take me to them. As we go downhill, I hear yell from the Christian camp "Sparare!” and moments later arrows start landing near us most of arrows miss but one of the arrows scratch my shoulder, but soon after we got close enough to make bows useless. I kicked my skis off and charged on the enemy ranks.

Clashes of weapons and shields soon filled the battle field. I engaged in combat with one of the mercenaries, I used my shield to push him away and in immediate response trusted my spear in him that mercenary fall soon after in blows from my comrades and I faced a man seemingly one of the Christian knights, as we fight he yells “Die heretic!” I block him with my shield and yell back “I hope you’ll suffer because of the new born you have slaughtered!” and delivered my spears point to his chest. Still alive he tries to take me down only to be impaled by my spear the second time, this time for good.

Immediately after he falls in ground a body guard attempts to cut me in half with halberd but misses as he loses his balance to ice below the snow. He meets his end in my spear and Robbie’s axe moment later. I stop to catch my breath and see how the line of Christians has gotten a lot smaller.

I continue after taking a deep breath and hit bodyguard out of my way with my shield. In immediate response someone hits my helmet and before I see who, another mercenary slashes his sword and manages to cause a minor wound to my chest “That’ll be nice scar” I think while attempting to return the favor we fight for a moment until I lose sight of him. As I look for new enemy I see how Pope and Shadowshield fight, the pope cuts Shadowshield down but whit his last strength he thrusts his spear through the Pope. I notice standing beside William as we fight against the Catholics for the control of Popes body. One mercenary forgets that spears can also stab for above the shield and falls in ground and next to me William swigs his spear cutting the throats of two mercenaries. Fourth mercenary attempts to revenge for his comrades but ends up being impaled by my spear.

The fight over Popes body gets more intense by every dead warrior. I can see how Ole Ragnarson cuts down 3 men which two raise up severely wounded. I face against another knight who screams “Vade Retro Stultus!” whatever it means. My spear misses his head but manages to cause wound in his head, unfortunately to me his speed was enough to deliver his weapon to my leg. As I lose balance he shoves me down, but when I rise up he is already fighting Suigintou. One mercenary apparently thinks me as easy target. He was proven wrong by my spear going through his belly, just because he wasn’t fast enough to stop. I swing my spear and wound knight coming at me, but before I get to finish him with thrust a mercenary jumps in front of me and takes the lethal hit instead of the knight. As we now outnumber the remaining Catholics I look for a new opponent, I see several comrades of mine lying on the ground. Soon after another mercenary falls as my spear impales him from his back.

As I pull my spear out and watch him fall I see King Eragon and one of his bodyguards fight a knight who seems to have upper hand to our wounded king I rush to aid him but I am too late, the knight kills Eragon before I reach them. The bodyguard attempts to take revenge and wounds the knight but gets killed too. I feel rage inside and jump in air yelling from bottom of my lungs, the knight turns towards me and attempts to block my spear but fails and gets spear in his head. Before I can pull my spear out of the knight, a mercenary charges towards. I manage to avoid his first blow and as the rage still effects I use my shield to push him off balance and jump on top of him and start beating him. Next thing I realize is someone touching my shoulder, I look who was that and see the face of William. I calm fast and take my shield and spear from the ground.

Three of us me, William and Rotten Robbie watch the battlefield, the cry of wounded and dying is horrifying as always, It doesn’t bother during fighting but once the battle stops you can hear them. The Vatican army is either laying on the ground and the few survivors they might have scattered in all directions.

We won but with high price.
