Because this is all becoming too off center and personally agressive in a Non-RP way I ask permission to slow things a second and return to the original motive.

Not that it will truly be decisive but more of a litmus test.....

I suggest a vote.

One choice per player please, on each question.
(you may add the text Unsure if simple yes or No does not apply)
Close the vote One week from 7 March. Please do not debate the vote until then......continue the other debates as you wish, but I hope not. This topic needs a Cooling Off.

NPC allowed in POPE: Yes or No

NPC allowed In Cardinal: Yes or No

NPC allowed In Bishop: Yes or No

NPC allowed in Patriarch: Yes or No

NPC allowed in Shariff: Yes or No

NPC allowed in Ayatollah: Yes or No

NPC allowed in High Priest: Yes or No

(all these suggestions are the titles I could think of as speaking in High Religous circles)

No vote over fight or don't fight is permitted here as that is the Players own choice and the other players own opinions cannot bind them. Of course Integrity over Battle Reports Should still be mandatory but the Admins have suggested that is an RP issue also.

....(and No, that is not a call to delete any RP over false reports....all who have worked with military intelligence should know Better )

This is stupid, since the pope cannot be NPC. We will have other NPC as nation's rulers aswell?
Why not complete eliminate the part with "your knight..", play with as many NPC you want instead of your knight and we will have a complete and sublime chaos with no rules!
Let's drink to that.
Also a vote of a few players here will change the rules of the game? I don't think so.
Since it was time enough to collect all the opinions and Hoern already pronounce in this matter, I ask the Mods to lock the topic or to rename according with the new game invent it.
Have fun!

A NPC can not be a king, a chancellor or a count. Those offices are built into the game mechanics and so they only can be executed by PCs. Hoern made that pretty clear.

Since the pope also is king of the nation Vatican in the game mechanics, he can not be a NPC.

In all other roles there can be NPCs.

Now wait a minute... what if it is clear that the NPC is actually this player...

Say I remained Molly IG, but killed her in RP then created an NPC rp character to represent Molly named Joan of Arche. Then I had in Molly's banner her rp character/npc is joan of arche, but IG name was Molly? Meaning the NPC and character are held responsible for each others actions?

Otherwise I agree with Julian. Except to say that if pope is king... then we need as a group to think of a KH new title for the leader of the christian faith. I am sorry that is bogus to have the pope as king of a country. It should be separate from the church so it may not be monopolized. An yes I am tired and down, and tired of the bickering which is why I took nearly two days off. An I am sure it will show in my posts.

Stop prodding me to come back people! Ill smack someone over the head. Please everyone... *Looks specifically at Gregory* Stop and slow down!

Every single player character is a knight, but the game world consists of all sorts of other kinds of people as well who are not knights. So what about them? There are a few choices -

xAx played as PCs
xBx played as NPCs
xCx not played at all
xDx played as they are.

xAx Everybody is a knight. Knights end up marrying knights in ceremonies conducted by a knight, in a church whose every member is a knight. Or then the confusion where the forum RP focuses on one aspect of a character whereas the ingame actions are something entirely different, e.g. a religious leader who ends up the hitmaster of a battle.

xBx The world has lots of people, but everyone has a knight as PC. Some clarity is called for here - what NPCs can and cannot do, responsibility, godmodding issues, etc.

xCx Knights only.. sounds very odd.

xDx This would mean player characters that are not knights. Registered NPCs perhaps, somewhat similar to the children of knights, but with access to the boards. Or then going all the way, meaning there could be players without a knight as character. Perhaps interesting, but not really KH anymore.

My votes, if any such are required.. would be "yes" on each. And then calling the Pope of Vatican (in the context of the ingame title) of Vatican.. the King of Italy. And giving the current Italy another name of course. There is no reason why the leadership of a religion would necessarily be based on a specific nation. Historically that was usually the case, but not always, not even for Catholicism.

I see no reason why this would necessarily lead to chaos.

Gregory, I disagree in your point. Of course the pope can be an NPC, while the ruler / leader of the Vatican must be a PC.
When we had the last discussion, all other players in the conclave stated that they want a PC to be pope and therefore a PC was voted. There is no rule for it in the game, except I have overseen a change that Hoern has made to the rules. Of course it is better to have a PC caring for this role as this person has far more live then a NPC, but this is another story.

Florian, I dont think that pope and leader of the Vatican can be separated.
The leader of the Vatican is called "pope" by the game. I would think this is binding for us.

Also it will prevent another king to control the pope with a NPC. Lets say the bishop Mournier will become a NPC pope. We will have a pope controlled by the king of Burgundy and no matter how good will be the rp of father Mournier, the total separation will always be put in question by the other players.
As far as I remember, all other players in the conclave didn't state that they want a PC to be pope, but state the pope cannot be a NPC.
