Tournament in Catalonia 04.05.2010 10:56:19 --- 1 Year, 9 Months ago

The underpaid, over worked messengers of the King of Spain climb wearily back into the saddles of their horses to travel across the land once again delivering the following message.
QUOTE:
Lords and Ladies, Kings and Queens, Sultans and Caliphs,
I announced today that after sending out several particular invitations, that a tournament will be held in Catalonia, the Spanish Capital the week of May 23rd. Inspired by developments, the success of the tournament held by our Irish friends to the north, from the Peace treaties and the warm feelings that have blossomed between those who were once enemies, this event is designed to bring together Knights from across the globe to compete for the pride of their Nations. Interest has already returned back to me from those initial invitations from the four corners of Europe and I now extend the invitation to send representation to this event to those Nations who might also be interested.
A new day is dawning in Spain, and for Europe, let us gather and compete for honor and the glory of our realms.

QUOTE:
Lords and Ladies, Kings and Queens, Sultans and Caliphs,
After speaking with interested parties the exact date of the tournament has been scheduled for the 24th of May for it to begin. It will be accompanied by feasting and revelry which all are welcome to attend as well.
To date, six nations have confirmed representation in this tournament and I hope more of you will decide to add to that number. It is too much to dream that someone from every nation might be represented, affairs of state and distance place a great burden on that possibility. But I do still hope that as many as are possible might attend so that the honor and skill of its knights might be properly showcased against those of so many others.
Regards
-Charles Hart

QUOTE:
Two days until the start of the Tournament in Spain. To date representatives from Byzantium, France, England, Burgundy and Spain itself have all entered with as many as three other nations due to send representation within the next two days. If you are within travel distance there is still time and room available.
Good luck to all the participants and may God strengthen your arms for the test to come.

Charles smiled a bit to himself looking out over the assembled masses. The beginning of the tournament was hours away and Catalonia was alive with feasts and parties food and wine flowing for the guests and common people alike.
He stepped out onto a tiered balcony a hastily prepared scroll in one hand.
"People of Spain," he spoke softly forcing the assembled mass to quiet down to bare whisper of anticipation as he spoke. "People of Spain, I have the great pleasure to announce the opening of the Tournament of Spain. Fifteen Knights of five nations will compete for the right to be called Champion as well... as a bounty of silver." A little smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as the assembled let out a ragged cheer at that last.
"I have here in my hand the official announcement concerning the first round of competition.."
Charles cleared his throat a bit as he held up the scroll.
" The young caballero Rowan St James of Spain will face the Roman Strategos Alexius i Komnenos of Byzantium"
"His Majesty the King of France... La Hire with take to the sand to compete against Countess Clarep of France"
"Stratega Zora of Byzantium will confront Spain's own Conde Feucht von Lipqig"
"Caballero Juan of Spain will face Conde Overlady of Spain!"
"Conde Jvanvs de Valencia of space will confront Margravine Diane d Doisjolie of Burgandy"
"Charles Hart of Spain, will face Count Bertrand du Guesclin of France"
"Earl Omzdog of England will confront caballero Lysander of Spain."
"Conde Picochen de Mataplana will face off with Sir Hernando of the Castle Guard."
Charles slowly lowered the list and gave a small ghost of a smile.
"Good luck once more to all the competitors. Now eat... drink... celebrate. Today is a glorious day for Spain and our friends new and old alike."
