Somebody in RH says: why not use wood and stone in the same way as special raw materials, giving a direct bonus to the army?
It's exactly what I'll propose now. Named as you like for the RP, but it's only a direct bonus like the other raw materials do.
Since the wood and stone production its bigger than the special raw materials, only need to ask Hoern to increase the transport, like 10x wood, 10x stone per soldier.

Catapults (war machines) - wood and stone usage.
Each knight in the army consumes 5 unit of wood and 5 unit of stone material for the battle.
Bonus = increase hit points (damage) by 1.

I like it, we need more ways to work with those materials. Generally they just sit around, this at least provides a use for them.


Greg, has any thought been given to putting a stone and wood requirement addition to shire improvement requirements?

A perfect idea Greg! Perfect perfect, and I don't see a draw back at all. Please please please let this one go through... I am tired of sacking my enemies with tons of excess wood and stone by the carts transport and sale. XD

Charles, we have a long list of such buildings Smelgar put in a nice form in the Tech Board, just waiting for Hoern approval.
As Molly says, I just wanted a quick way to deal with wood and stone useless stockpiles.

Alar, you know we developed an entire system of war machines and defending buildings, much more interesting than this, easy to implement is the only quality beside the utility (find a use for wood and stone).
Lets wait for Hoern to give his view.

Is it already implemented? I cannot se any Hoern's answer or official announcement in the news board, but to my mind tis idea is quite good

There is a discussion in RH about using wood and stone to repair the buildings affected, maybe Hoern is waiting for a conclusion there, I cannot think about other reason he don't give any clue about the opportunity of catapults proposal or simply he just missed the topic, we had a lot of proposals lately.
In the mean time wood&stone accumulate in huge stockpile of useless resources blocking the trade. In my opinion catapults proposal can be implemented at least here in KH and can work with any other wood&stone usage idea.

The problem I see is the additional advantage for old big nations.
I mean it is clear that you only can use resources if you have them in stock - and young nations don't have much in stock. But to have a good effect (for the draining of resources) there has to be a high amount of resources needed for the catapults. And this means a great advantage for the old nations with high stock-piles.

I think I will see if I can add the warmachines als real warmachines to the script (not as a simple hitpoint...)

Good point. It must be fair for everybody, not in the favor of old nations.

Still, if permitted, we already talk about this. A small amount will be better, every nation can afford, even the new ones. Also with or without catapults, an old and bigger nation army will take a new and small nation army anyway.

That kind of small bonus will be in favor of a new and small nation when it comes to attack an older and bigger nation shires undefended by an army, taking the peasants, militia down.

Also it will be against long campaigns, since the army cannot resupply, except the plunder.

I'm not saying that will solve the wood and stone problem, but at least making some shires available for trade, with the army holding and using more wood and stone like now, it will be an improvement.

If the army will be allowed to hold a large amount of resources, there will be no need to use it, with a few transports will empty all but one shire, where wood and stone will be dumped.

A huge amount of resources need it for catapults will be in the favor of older and bigger nations who can afford that, not to mention there won't be wood and stone for other applications available.

The proposal was 10x resources for each soldier to carry. A new nation with 10 knights can hold 100 wood and 100 stone. Except they just start it, it's impossible they cannot have such amount.
The idea was exactly to protect the younger nations, what use if an older nation have tons of such resources if they cannot carry and use with the army, limited by 10x for each soldier?
