Stefan Dusan Nemanjic looked through the window of the Panonia Castle. He thought of the war that ended just a month ago, and about the one that was coming like a storm from the north. The crazed king of Saxony was sick of peace, and decided the war tormented Empire of Serbia was a good target for his lust for fighting.

The reports of the enemy's advance started arriving a week ago. Agents said the Saxons were organizing and comencing their long march south, thirsty for blood. Then yesterday Serbian leadership was confronted with another piece of information. Saxons have crossed the border of Kingdom of Bavaria, and just went through its lands like they were their own. Bavaria could not hold them off, that was obvious, and Dusan knew the Queen of Bavaria could not force the warmongering Saxons to turn around and leave her lands. Soon, Kingdom of Croatia was next. And after that, Saxons were going to face Serbians.

Dusan called for Radoslav, and once everything was set, started dictating:

To all Rulers of Christian Europe,

I write you here for one sole reason. I believe every one of you have seen the official statements of Alrik vom Greifenstein, king of Saxony. But still, I wish to point out some of the facts that just need to be pointed out.

1. First of all, about this peace treaty the Empire of Serbia concluded with the Kingdom of Croatia and Bavaria.

a)The Kingdom of Croatia, after being defeated and had most of her knights captured, came up with a peace treaty on their own will, the text you saw already.
b) Empire of Serbia agreed with the contents of the agreement, and the document was signed by both sides

2. Alrik vom Greifenstein showed up, and said he was not satisfied with the peace agreement, and threatened Empire of Serbia with war if we do not change it.

3. Now, Kingdom of Croatia wishes the peace that was concluded to last, and states that it is indeed satisfied with it.

4. Alrik vom Greifenstein ignores the wishes of Croatia and still he wants to go to war. Furthermore - he sends his armies through Bavaria (and later on he will pass through Croatia for sure) without any warning or official statement.

5. Alrik vom Greifenstein states his own honour was hurt by myself. This indeed may be so - but personal exchange of letters between him and myself is not the reason for him to attack another country. If he wishes to satisfy his honor, he can freely challenge me on to a duel, and we can set things right man to man.

Anyways, the situation is clear, as I see it. And you must see it too.

Kingdom of Croatia wanted peace, and Alrik, without a real reason (the reason he officially stated is simply poor effort to hide his lust for battle) decided to ignore its wishes. He thinks himself untouchable so much, that he just sent his armies right through another nations's domain without previously asking for the right of passage; furthermore, he threatened Croatia itself that he will run over it if it even tries to say "no" to his armies when they arrive on their way to Serbia.
Now, like that was not enough, he sent an ultimatum to Empire of Serbia, like it was some lesser state he wishes to bully.

You tell me, wise Leaders of Europe - is that the way of a Christian king to behave? He calls himself "Fortress of Christendom". I believe he doesn't even comprehend what those words mean. Not to mention his previous actions, when he sided with the pagans.

I hereby write thee, wise leaders of Europe, not to ask for help against this madman, or anything of that sort. I write you so that you would have a complete insight of this man's actions. I believe they fully depict him as a man, and his kingdom as a whole - he is a bully and a pagan lover, and a mad man too. For long have I followed his actions, and to be honest - I cannot remember when he did one right thing in the past.

I just wanted to make things clearer for you, and show you the true face of Kingdom of Saxony and its so called king. Empire of Serbia will fight this man (for his madness already leads him towards our borders) and we will do it eagerly; even though he maybe cannot understand it, he himself insulted us dearly with his intimidations. I only fear that if something is not done, other countries will also suffer from his madness. Bavaria already felt the boots of Saxony's soldiers. Soon, Croatia will be next, for it cannot fight them, as it is completely exhausted by the war it fought against us.

Strange times came indeed: times in which we have to protect our yesterday's enemies from frenzied men like Alrik vom Greifenstein and his soldiers are.

Something need to be done - if for no other reason, then for those that cannot defend themselves, thus becoming the victims of the Saxon bullying.
