A while ago someone said I ought to join the army. At the time I did not do that as I was fiefless and considered it more important to get a dependable source of income.

Now that is pretty much done, and so I am considering what next to do. For proper planning there are still things I need to know:

1) If I am traveling with the army in foreign parts, will I then still be able to tend my fiefdom at the same time ?

2) What weaponry is required ? Peasants and footmen I can handle easily, but armored knights are another matter.

3) Is there a 'salary' to being in the army ? or is it purely 'noblesse obligé'.

4) How about maternity leaves ? I am not big yet, but have missed a couple of moon so I am pretty sure I will need one.
