I began using 2 handed weapons quite long time ago. I started with halberd. It was a decent weapon, but not enough for me, so I went to Italy in order to buy a Halberd of swiss guard. I was satisfied with it, it's slow, but when you hit with it, the enemy will surely feel it. But after some time I decided, that It's still not enough, so I took another long trip, this time to Aragon and bought Spanish great sword.
I chosen 2h weapon because I'm an archer. One day I though: "I won't be able to use my horse in battle, so why not get 2h weapon?" And so I did. Also, you still can use heavier armour in duels despite fact of being an archer.

The 2H swords (spanish and british) are the best duel weapons imo. In the long run heavy armor is recommended. With light armor you will never reach Def-values like an average 1H + shield combo. Armor is your best defense. You deal more damage with your sword than with your bow, too.

You can't use Bow with heavier armour. You can use heavier armour in duels, but then you are no more an archer.

you could wear heavy armour in duel and remove it for battle.
Like taking off the gauntlets to be able to use the bow.
But I would not recommend that.

For example: I have 4 PP helmet, 4 PP body armour and 4 PP chausses(together: 12pp). BUT I also have 6PP gauntles, that I use only for duels.

I'm an archer and use the complete leather armor. Thats not really an problem, i can win against full plated enemies too.
When our actual conflict is over, i want to puchase the swiss halberd. To see myself how it's going in duels and battles. And the genovese bow too.

I dedicate my life to see how good someone can perform as archer and helebardier.
