As a sign of my good will in diplomatic affairs and peace and as a good start for my regency, I will hold a big turney in Barcelona for my inthronisation that all of our nations learn to know each other more than they are doing now.
This turney will be totally set under the sign of peace and I ask you all to hold that peace during the festivities.
Furthermore I invite all Knights and Ladys and high Royals of the world to take part at this turney, dont matter which faith they are belonging to, to come to Barcelona to celebrate together with the Knights of Aragon.

After the turney there will be hold several Bankets and Dances in my Castle followed by a diplomatic congress, to talk about the future and peace in Europe.

Bella read the warm message from the new Aragonian king with pleasure.

Now, to find some knights who could attend the tourney in Barcelona, Bella had compiled a list of the knights currently residing in London.

She went down the list:

"That one and that one and that one" - she looked further - "in fact this whole block of knights are scarce more than squires, we can't send children to an international tournament."

"That one always gets seasick and would never freely consent to go."

"The next group of knights are in the army, where they are surely needed for the defense of our country or are awaiting news of their postings to an army."
Armed forces of strangers had been spotted several times along the southern borders of the English shires, some said they were bandits, others claimed to have identified Castilian banners, but there was no telling for sure, since they retreated whenever English troops moved in to investigate the matter. Anyway troops posted to guard English territory would have to be maintained.

Bella continued down her list: "These are members of her Majesty's court, whose witty company or wise council would be sorely missed, were they to leave."

"That one and that one recently suffered an injury and are not up to such strenuous activity and those 3 are far too old to manage such a long journey."

Bella paused, then looked at her list again and discovered that she had eliminated all the knights listed.

She had meant to find at least a few English knights, who might be willing and able to go to the Aragonian tournament.

However, the letter from the Aragonian king was waiting for a reply. So she wrote a quick acknowledgement:

as you may have heard, England recently was sorely afflicted by a cowardly thief, who broke in to the Chancery of England, making off with the Great Royal Seal of England and using it to send falsified orders to her Majesty's armies and nobles, to officials high and low alike, starting an uproar amongst the peasantry and causing as much confusion and damage as possible.

Even the English delegation, which had set out to visit your tournament, received falsified orders by courier. The long and the short of it is that of the sizable delegation England had mustered to visit your tournament, a mere handful will make it to your country.

It has been drawn to my attention that Aragorn has suffered a similar calamity, as England is currently facing, in the past. Though unlike England, which was beset by an unknown thief, Aragorn fell prey to a a vile traitor. Be assured that these recent events have aroused my deepest sympathies for all countries, who have suffered similar experiences. Though over a decade has passed since Aragorn's travails, the scars must still linger in the minds of Aragorn people.

Be they traitors or thieves, may all such vile creatures seeking to destroy nations by cowardly, underhanded, back-stabbing means, instead of meeting their foes honorably on the field of battle, find no sanctuary wherever they may try to flee, might they be brought to swift justice and may their souls burn in hellfire everlasting.
